Southern Mudding Amphibious Vehicle Guide
A practical guide to the Amphibious Vehicle added to Southern Mudding on August 14, including safe land-water tests and known public-data limits.
What the update confirms
Southern Mudding’s official August 14 description includes a New Amphibious Vehicle. It is listed separately from the Florida and Limited Swamp Buggies, so “Amphibious Vehicle” should not be treated as a generic nickname for either buggy.
The public listing does not publish a model name beyond that label, a price, a dealership, a passenger count, or separate land and water speed figures. The cover image on this guide is from Southern Mudding’s official current thumbnail set; Roblox does not attach vehicle names to individual thumbnail images, so it is not used as model-identification evidence.

How to test land and water behavior
An amphibious vehicle should be judged in two modes. Use a repeatable route instead of one dramatic jump into deep water.
1. Establish a stock baseline
Spawn a fresh vehicle and leave its engine, tires, wheel size, and suspension unchanged. Record the top stable speed on a straight paved section and how long it takes to reach that speed.
2. Enter shallow water slowly
Approach a shoreline at low speed. Watch whether steering remains responsive, whether the wheels maintain ground contact, and whether the body begins to float. Back out before moving to deeper water if the vehicle loses control.
3. Test deep-water propulsion
Enter the same line again and note whether the vehicle keeps moving once the wheels are no longer pushing against the bottom. A vehicle that merely survives shallow water is not necessarily propelling itself while afloat.
4. Test the exit
The most useful amphibious vehicle is one that can climb back onto land. Use a gentle bank first, then try a steeper muddy exit. Record whether the limiting factor is water speed, ground clearance, traction, or approach angle.
5. Repeat after one change
Change only one setup variable at a time. Large bog tires may improve a muddy exit while changing water behavior; engine upgrades can also hide the stock vehicle’s weakness.
Amphibious Vehicle vs new swamp buggies
The names suggest different design goals, but the official post does not publish a specification chart.
| Test | Amphibious Vehicle | Florida / Limited Swamp Buggy |
|---|---|---|
| Official category clue | Explicitly called amphibious | Explicitly called swamp buggies |
| Water use | Core expectation from the name | Community video shows a modified new buggy crossing water |
| Mud use | Needs an in-game stock test | Buggy video demonstrates strong modified mud performance |
| Price and location | Not public | Not public |
| Best comparison | Land-to-water transition and exit | Mud traction, clearance, tuning, and route speed |
Do not use the word “amphibious” as proof that every water depth is safe. Southern Mudding models traction, vehicle setup, and terrain; a controlled shoreline test is more useful than a single deep-water attempt.
Troubleshooting
- Vehicle stops in deep water: determine whether it is grounded, stalled, or floating without propulsion. Reset only after observing the state.
- It enters water but cannot leave: try a shallower bank and a straight approach before changing the build.
- A video is faster than your stock vehicle: compare upgrades, tires, wheel height, and engine parts first.
- The vehicle is missing: join a current server and confirm the August 14 update is active before assuming it was removed.
